Rachael Sherer is an artist who finds beauty in the simple and often overlooked details.  She studies her subject intensely to illustrate these features, which are reflected in her still life works.  She draws inspiration from early classical artists, her family and simplicity in life style.  Rachael frequently finds herself in cow pastures, graveyards and cotton fields looking for the perfect “subject” for her next painting.

The gifted artist grew up and now resides on the Eastern Shore of the Mobile Bay in Alabama where she developed an appreciation for art, passed on to her by her mother.  The youngest of five, Rachael followed the family tradition by attending the University of Alabama.  Her degree is in Interior Design.Married for 28 years, Rachael put her art pursuits on hold until her children were older.  During that time she homeschooled them for six years, helped her husband build a business and maintained strong extended and quite large family connections.Today, life is never dull around the Sherer house with a husband and paramedic son, who is active in the Spanish Fort Volunteer Fire Department, and a daughter pursuing a nursing degree. Both children are newly married and she looks forward to a growing family. When she is not painting, Rachael enjoys serving her church, family and community.
