Karen Marcum was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. She currently lives in Homewood, AL with her husband and their three children. She is a self-taught artist who works in acrylics. Her art is inspired by nature and the daily life, past and present, of living in the South. She enjoys creating on wood as her primary canvas and uses both palette knife and brush to obtain a simplistic, soothing effect in her paintings.
